Child Pornography Legislation

            The production, dissemination and display of obscene material containing visual depictions of children are not victimless crimes.  The possession and dissemination of these obscene materials memorialize the abuse of the very children depicted. 

            As written, the existing laws addressing child pornography are not clear, allowing some criminals to avoid prosecution.  This bill provides necessary revisions and amendments in the current laws to enable law enforcement to effectively fight the criminals who produce, disseminate and display child pornography in our 21^st Century world. 

            This bill will specify that obscene material includes modern technical devices like the internet, DVD, and other technical electronics which we use in the modern era.  By updating the existing laws on child pornography, prosecutors will be able to put more of these criminals in jail and away from our children.
