Recently at I had the opportunity to speak with the Pelham New Pioneers Club at one of their luncheons.  I quickly realized during this visit how wonderful and active an organization they are. These senior citizens made me thankful to know that there are so many magical people in our community who have a calling to something good for others everyday of their lives. I thought to myself, "If only I had half their energy!" They were a fun group that offered so much in the way of energy and support for everyone in the room.

During this Thanksgiving holiday we have

Ms. Lucy Cooper & Cam Ward share a moment together at a recent meeting of the Pelham New Pioneers Club

so many things to be thankful for in our community including our families, friends, veterans and other wonderful blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon us.  However, I would like to encourage everyone to take a moment to please say thank you to the senior citizens in our community and encourage other local leaders to step forward and continue supporting senior citizen programs in our area. Many of these seniors have given countless hours to volunteering, serving in the military and building our community into what it is today.

I would also like to personally say thank you seniors for what you have taught me and your tireless work and contribution to making our community a better place to live.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
