Centreville, Alabama- State Representative Cam Ward announced a grant for $8,000 today at the Bibb County Board of Education meeting in Centreville.  Ward was joined by newly elected Superintendent of Education Don Elam and the entire Bibb County Board of Education in this presentation.

The grant will go toward the Bibb County School Foundation which assists teachers in carrying out educational programs for their students.  The Bibb County School Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the classroom education for all the students of Bibb County.

“Bibb County schools do more with less money than any other school system in the State of Alabama,” said Representative Ward.  “I think that this is a testament to the strong work ethic of the faculty, staff and parents in the Bibb County school system,” Ward said.

The grant was part of a series of grants from the Alabama State Legislature for the 2006-2007 academic school year. It is also the largest grant ever awarded by Representative Ward’s office since he began his service in the Alabama House of Representatives.
